2008 Rhythms of Life concert

We're thrilled and honored to be a big part of the the 5th annual "Rhythms of Life" concert benefitting the Sonny Pugar Memorial on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 PM.

This year the event is moving to the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse and includes a dinner option, which will make the evening better than ever!

The lineup is terrific too! It includes, Billy Price, Shari Richards, The Granati Brothers, Sputzy, Sabrina and Mark Matteo (from No Bad Ju-Ju), Etta Cox, Atristree and Double Shot. The guest of honor is Johnny Angel.

Best of all (from OUR perspective) all of these great artists will be backed up by the Hewlett Anderson Band and Pete will be closing the show!

It should be a fantastic evening and we hope everyone will come down to check it out. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster or from the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse. See you there!!!

Ciao

Hi Everyone,

We regret to announce that, after 7 1/2 years of great times and great music at Ciao on Monday nights, it is time to move on. Playing at Ciao was one of the most special experiences that either of us has had in music, and we will always treasure the memories of some of those nights. We also treasure the friends that we made there and will always be grateful to everyone who came down on Mondays and made them so special.

The good news is that Monday night music is NOT over, it's just moving a couple of miles away!

Beginning Monday, July 28 we will be appearing every other Monday night at Wright's Seafood Inn in Heidelberg. We'll get started around 7:30 or so, just like Ciao, and we are looking forward to a lot of great times, great food and great music at Wright's for a long time to come. Please come down on the 28th and help us kick off a new tradition!

As for Ciao.., never say never. We're very grateful to Nick and Sabrina for giving us a home on Mondays for so long. We wish them success and hope that you will all continue to stop in to Ciao for the fabulous food and fine wine. It is truly a one of a kind place!

Thank you to everyone who came to Ciao and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Pete & Scott

and the Emmy goes to...

Live From Studio A!!!!!!!!!!!

It's true, "Live From Studio A: American Standards" has won the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Emmy award for Outstanding Arts Program or Special!

I'm posting this from Philadelphia, where the awards were handed out just a few hours ago, and it's hard to express the feeling; seeing 6 years of hard work and joyous performance culminate in this award.

We've always been proud of LFSA, and we've been nominated 3 times, which in itself is a humbling achievement. But to bring this one home exceeds all of our expectations and is truly an amazing feeling! Thanks to all of you for supporting the show and for you good wishes throughout the last six years.

It's time to celebrate!

Last month, the patrons of Ciao had a surprise for us: "Pete & Scott Appreciation Night." It was an amazing surprise and certainly one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us. We've added a little page to our website with some pictures from that evening. Check it out at:

The Return of Frescos's!

We are thrilled to announce that we're back at Fresco's on Friday, March 23! After a 7 month hiatus we're going to make our triumphant return to the newly re-modeled Fresco's for a special appearance from 9-11:30.

This is great news for us, because Fresco's was where we played together for the first time, and was a mainstay for us for almost 7 years before they stopped having entertainment late last summer. Some of out best shows were there, and, if this event is a success, we can hope that some of the best are still to come!

Please join us for a great night!

Emmy nomination!

I'm thrilled to announce that I just received an Emmy Award nomination for Musical Composition! The nomination is for music that I wrote for the documentary "From Pittsburgh to Poland: Lessons from The Holocaust" last year. The documentary itself was also nominated, and has already WON other national awards.

The awards ceremony is September 9th, so I'll be sure to post again afterward to let you know how it went. Win or lose, it's a great honor just to be nominated, and I'm very excited!

Fresco's ending live music

This Friday, August 4, looks like it's going to be our last performance at Fresco's for a long time, if not forever.

Fresco's is remodeling their dining room and converting the old bar into a banquet room. I stopped by tonight to check it out and it's very apparent that the new space will be too small for live music. So, after August's performances on the deck are concluded, there is not likely to be any more music at Fresco's.

On a personal note, I have to say this makes me sad. One of the things you learn early in this business is that clubs come and go and not to get too attached to any particular venue.

But this place has a lot of sentimental value for me. The first gigs that Pete, Joe & I played together were there. Our CD release party was there. The first inspiration for "Live From Studio A" happened there. And we played a LOT of really great music to a LOT of really great crowds there.

I'm sure we won't have any problem finding other places to play. And, who knows, the next place might be a lot better. But I'll miss Fresco's.
